Flotsam
A piece of wood picked up several years ago on a beach in northern Australia. It has filled my imagination by its shape and smoothness- it was the head of a walking stick belonging to a wise person, lost to the Arafura. That’s what I believe. And it’s not a root, worn and weathered, from shuffling between seas.
