Continuing to interpret the sketches from our recent trip to northern Australia.

This painting captures the intricate layering of rocks, the sweep of the hills, trees clinging o cliff edges and ever-changing light. (Based on some sketches made in the VRD area).

The boab tree becomes obvious in the landscape west of Katherine. This is a quick drawing of a boab tree from Fitzroy crossing area. Knobs and rings mark the bulbous trunk. Branches are a delicate network . I’ve added more seed pods than were there when we visited. So it goes.
